Create the exact look you want to wear to your formal or prom! Whether a gown, pantsuit, or skirt and top, we can make it happen. My name is Jackie Saddic of Jaclyn Leila Design. I am a fashion designer born and raised in, and working out of West Chester. I am a Drexel University Fashion Design graduate with a growing portfolio. I am offering a fashion design and sewing class for high school students interested in making their formal gowns/outfits from scratch OR up-cycled from old or thrifted garments. Classes can be tailored to any skillset! Even if you have never plugged in a sewing machine. The class is held at my studio in Ginkgo Arts (right next to Barnaby’s on High Street). Classes are 2.5 hours long at $60 per class. I offer deals for students who want to design and create with a friend! Book two students for one class at $50 per person or three students in one class at $40 per person. I can only provide space and machinery for up to three students at a time. This course is 10 classes in total and can be completed at the student’s availability; whether that means coming in once a week, more frequently, or less frequently. Please keep your formal event date in mind when scheduling your courses. The class fee includes machinery, shears, scissors, pattern paper, rulers, etc. but does not include materials for the gown (fabric, zippers, etc.). These items can be sourced outside of class time with my guidance or we can dedicate a class to taking a field trip to fabric stores or thrift stores depending on your project. When booking, please select the total number of students who will be registering for the course. The price indicated is the total price of all of the students registering. Unfortunately the booking site I use does not allow multiple participants to book under the same time slot so it must all be paid for under one name. If this hinders you from registering, please reach out and we can manage a different way to sign you up for the course.
